Delaware Republican Senate Candidate Christine O'Donnell Calls Evolution "a Myth"

Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell calls evolution "a myth" and backs up her claim with the question: if evolution is real, "why aren't monkeys still evolving into humans?"

Intelligent thought is the antithesis to religion. Organized Religions need people to believe in devils and witches. And the Ruling Elite needs Religion to keep the masses in check.

“Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s”

Religion needs Caesar and Caesar needs Religion.

Keep the serfs busy with witches and devils so that they do not see their pitiful lot in life. Make them beholding to Priests who tell them what to think and do.

Then the Caesar's (the ruling Republican elite) allow the Religions to continue so as to keep the serfs in place.

Works out well for the Priests and Caesar.

That is how it works.

John Boehner Is Not Lying - He Didn't Use A Tanning Bed - He Is A Reptoid

You would think it was the second coming of Christ or something.  So much is being said of John Boehner's tan and how he got it.

Huffington Post is reporting that:
Addressing the seemingly constant chatter about the orangey-tan color of his skin, House Minority Leader John Boehner told the Wall Street Journal in an interview published Thursday that his eye-catching complexion is one hundred percent natural.
You know I am not a fan of John's or most Republicans in general but he is not lying.  It is one hundred percent natural because he is a Reptoid.  Reptoid you say?
Reptoids are humanoid reptilian creatures. They speak English and are involved in every major government and corporate decision. They are variously said to either disguise themselves or actually shape-shift into humans, where they have public lives in positions of national importance. Some say the Reptoids are of extraterrestrial origin, and some say they are native to Earth, having developed intelligence before the primates, and have been secretly running things all along.
Haven't we all been saying that the people in Washington are nothing but a bunch of snakes in the grass!  Well you were right.

Even Wikipedia has an article about them.  Isn't that proof enough?

Still don't believe me?

One of the most high profile shots taken at Boehner's tan came during the White House Correspondents' Dinner last year. President Obama joked that the pair actually "have a lot of in common," given that Boehner is "a person of color, although not a color that appears in the natural world."
See even the President thinks he is reptilian.  And of course his color is not of this world because John Boehner is an alien.

The most outspoken proponent of the conspiracy theory that reptilian beings in disguise are actually running our planet is David Ickes.  He contends that most of our world's leaders, from George W. Bush to members of the British royal family, are in fact 7-foot tall, blood-drinking reptilians from the star system Alpha Draconia.  (Makes about as much sense as the myths about God).
The  Reptilian Aliens which are called Reptoids are proportional in size to modern humans. They have a snake like or lizard appearance. These are highly advanced entities but viewed as being of a negative, hostile or dangerous disposition since they regard humans as a totally inferior race. They would perceive us much the way we would perceive a herd of cattle.
If the Republicans have their way we will be just like cattle, living outdoors and eating grass.

But it is not just Republicans - NOOOO.
Persistent stories have emerged for years about the evil that lurks behind the smiling facade of the royal family of England and the United Kingdom . While the theories and evidence runs the gamut, one story that remains persistent is the rumor that Queen Elizabeth II is a shape shifting superhuman creature best known as a reptilian. Her son is Prince Charles as you know.
Parallel to this story is the belief in some quarters that Type O Negative blood is indicative of reptilian, annunaki or so-called ancient astronaut ancestry on the part of those that have this rare blood type. The Universal donor - the person having this blood can donate blood to all but only receive back Type O him or herself.
Also, there is the background of the term 'blue blood' denoting royal ancestry being linked to the reptilian / dragon / annunaki / ancient astronaut bloodline due to the bluish hue of this blood due to a high copper concentration causing this coloring phenomenon.
So we should add a blood test requirement to running for office.  NO RH Neg politicians - go to your own planet.

Just the other day I commented upon Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) and how he looked reptilian.

And they have a sinister plot to control us.
According to Eric Phelps author of the The Vatican Assassins one of the purposes of the Jesuit Order is the destruction of the protestant reformation and their countries. And to install a One World Government, with a Pope of their choosing.
At least that part makes perfect sense!

And it explains why there are so many crazy ass Tea Partiers running for office.  They believe themselves to be the most purest form of life as they are androgynous and can reproduce without a counterpart.

Christine O’Donnell must be so happy. No sex. No Masturbation. Just love thyself. She sure loves herself.

So Remember - look for RH Neg blood, shifty eyes, clammy skin, signs of megalomania.  Avoid Washington at all cost!  I believe it to be an outpost inhabited solely by Reptoids and their mind slaves.

Angle, Miller, O’Donnell, Beck, Palin Speak Of God - But Are God And The Devil The Same

"Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness, with which more than half the Bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we called it the word of a demon, than the Word of God."
The Age of Reason - The 18th-century Anglo-American philosopher Thomas Paine
If you read my blog you know that I don't believe in God, or at least the God as described by most organized religions.  Needless to say, it is not always a position which is popular with many of the people I know.  I mean no disrespect to anyone, but I just don't get religion.  (See - God’s Lunatics: Lost Souls, False Prophets, Martyred Saints, Murderous Cults, Demonic Nuns, and Other Victims of Man’s Eternal Search for the Divine).

I just can't grasp the concept of a vengeful "God" - it makes absolutely no sense that someone all powerful and all knowing would intentionally inflict pain. I believe most religions are cults that prey on human's fear of the unknown. I am an atheist. I don't believe in god in any traditional sense at all. The "god" of the bible and Koran, etc. are pure myth in my opinion. I believe in mankind. I believe in science.

So needless to say, I don't believe in the devil either.  But I did just read about an interesting theory that will undoubtedly send some into apoplectic shock - are God and the Devil the same?  At its simplest level, that postulate does answer the question of how an all powerful being could allow such death and destruction - but the very notion runs counter to all that which Christianity speaks.

Turns out that this question has been debated for centuries.  But the very notion that the Biblical God is himself the Devil is heretical to mainstream Jewish, Christian, and Islamic dogma and may be treated as blasphemous in any of those religions. Through the ages many have been put to death for even asking this question (But I thought that killing was a mortal sin but it is ok to kill for having questions?  Guess not when you have questions about God.).

So what happens when you ask the question if God and the Devil are the same?

The Albigenses, along with the Cathari, who held similar beliefs that God and The Devil were the same, were the subjects of a 20-year long crusade of the Roman Catholic Church which aimed to exterminate them. The crusade massacred an estimated 200,000 to one million people between 1209 and 1229 and was followed by one of the first in what became a long series of inquisitions conducted by the church to purge society of heretics and nonbelievers. Repenters were required to wear a yellow cross sewn onto their outer clothing and to live apart from other Catholics (didn't Hitler require patches on clothing?). Those who refused to recant were hanged or burned.
So merely trying to understand the complexities of religion is cause for hanging and burning.  I guess that is why they call it "blind faith."

THE DEVIL

So who or what is the Devil?  According to Wikipedia:
The Devil (Greek: διάβολος or diávolos = 'slanderer' or 'accuser') is believed in certain religions and cultures to be a powerful, supernatural entity that is the personification of evil and the enemy of God and humankind. The Devil is commonly associated with heretics, infidels, and other unbelievers. The Abrahamic religions have variously regarded the Devil as a rebellious fallen angel or demon that tempts humans to sin or commit evil deeds. Others regard the Devil as an allegory that represents a crisis of faith, individualism, free will, wisdom and enlightenment.

In mainstream Christianity, God and the Devil are usually portrayed as fighting over the souls of humans, with the Devil seeking to lure people away from God and into Hell. The Devils demons. The Hebrew Bible (or Old Testament) describes the Adversary (Ha-satan) as an angel who instigates tests upon humankind.
Easy to sum up, the Devil is bad and evil.  But the Christian story of how the Devil came to be is actually fascinating.

Lucifer Becomes the Devil

According to Biblical stories:
The earth was a perfect creation. The angels shouted for joy. From creation, it was populated by angels.  There was a throne, on which sat Lucifer, a super archangel, a cherub, having been at the very throne of God in heaven.
However, Lucifer had allowed his beauty and perfection to fill him with vanity—with self-glory, self-desire. He became envious of God's power, resented authority over him. he plotted with his angels to marshal them into an invading army, to invade the heaven of God, to knock God off the throne of the Universe.

So Lucifer was no longer "Light-Bringer" but now an adversary, an aggressor, a competitor, an enemy.  The name Satan means "Adversary."  Lucifer's angels now became demons.
So Lucifer was a demi-god, a lesser God, but still a God, and God (being all powerful) allowed Lucifer to turn against him.  Does that make any sense?  If God is all powerful, why did he allow Lucifer to turn.  And if God is all knowing, didn't he know Lucifer would turn?

According to many of these Biblical scholars, God did not create a devil, but a beautiful, perfect superangel. But God did give to His angels free moral agency—minds that were free to think and reason—the right of free choice.

So God gave Lucifer the right of free choice, knowing that he would become a Devil, in order to do what?  Give Lucifer a free choice (that God already knew he would choose to be a devil).

The Right Of Free Choice - Just Don't Ask Questions

This right of free choice (and why it leads us to damnation if we are not careful) keeps popping up in the Bible.

Following the Old Testament, Adam and Eve, the first people, are in a Garden of Eden, in a Paradise. They have everything they want, or rather need, for their wants are poorly developed. One thing, however, is forbidden to them, the apple from the tree of knowledge.

Now if God controlled the earth why would he forbid mankind from knowledge, of all things? Because the truth would make man free of God? Because knowledge would destroy man's faith, or would have exposed the very idea of God as a concept of the Devil himself?   Are we to take form this that knowledge is bad and we should just listen to men who wear silk robes and funny hats?

Thus man is taught to believe that this eating of the tree of knowledge was the original sin, the most terrible thing he could have done, a devilish mistake for which he must atone by running to God for forgiveness crying: I will have faith; Faith alone saves; Faith alone is all that matters!

Blind Faith - Do Not Ask Questions - But You Have The Right Of Free Choice, So Long As You Choose Only What We Tell You.

And what of Lucifer and those who make the wrong choices - The Book of Revelation describes how Satan will be cast out of Heaven, down to the earth, having "great anger" and waging war against "those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus". Ultimately, Satan is thrown forever into the "lake of fire" (Revelation 20:10), not as ruler, but as one among many, being treated no different than all the others who have been cast there as well.

GOOD VERSUS EVIL

Why is there good and evil?  For many the question can be simply stated as can there be good without evil or evil without good?  Must the two coexist?  Why do we need evil?  Why would God allow evil?  If God is all powerful, why can't he stop evil and the devil?  Is God just "looking the other way"?

When the earthquake hit Haiti, one of the poorest nations in the World, Televangelist Pat Robertson claimed the earthquake was God's punishment for a legendary pact with the devil.

So was it God inflicting punishment or was it the Devil?  Did everyone hurt or killed in Haiti deserve punishment?  Pat Robertson certainly believes in a vengeful God.  But if God is all powerful and all knowing, why does he need to be vengeful?  Isn't vengeance just a petty human emotion?  Yeah I know "Vengeance is mine said the Lord."

GOD AS THE DEVIL

Several religious authors throughout history have advanced the notion that the god of the Abrahamic Bible and its sequels is consistent in character with the Devil. They make the case that the Biblical God is a divine force that wreaks suffering, death, and destruction and that tempts or commands humanity into committing mayhem and genocide.  Pat Robertson certainly believes that God wrecked suffering and death on Haiti, for a pact that was supposedly made by the great-great- great grandparents of many Haitians.  A new version of original sin.

Many of these authors assert their claims by reference to a number of passages in Biblical scripture describing actions of God that they say are evil or Devil-like.  Some criticize only Jehovah, the God of the Abrahamic scriptures (Tanakh), in contrast with the "true god" of the New Testament (My issue with that is again, if God is all powerful and knowing, why is he waiting in the wings to save us and is allowing all of these horrible things to happen?).  However, other authors apply their condemnation to the entire godhead of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

These writings refer to the Biblical God variously as "a demiurgus", "an evil angel", "the devil god", "the Prince of Darkness", "the source of all evil", "a demon", "a cruel, wrathful, warlike tyrant", "Satan", "the devil", and "the first beast of the book of Revelation".  So God as we know it could be the "the first beast of the book of Revelation"?

Marcion of Sinope, the first major heretic of Christianity in the first century AD, "[held that] the Old Testament was a scandal to the faithful … and … accounted for it by postulating [that Jehovah was] a secondary deity, a demiurgus, who was god, in a sense, but not the supreme God; he was just, rigidly just, he had his good qualities, but he was not the good god, who was Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ."[1] The Church condemned his writings as heretical.

Apelles, the second century AD Gnostic, "consider[ed] the Inspirer of Old-Testament prophecies to be not a god, but an evil angel."

The Persian prophet Mani, founder of the Manichaean sect in the third century AD, identified Jehovah as "the devil god which created the world" and said that "he who spoke with Moses, the Jews, and the priests … is the [Prince] of Darkness, … not the god of truth."

More recently "New Age" author Dorothy Leon makes an argument that is not just based on God's actions, but on a remarkable correspondence in two Biblical passages. Their significance has been debated by Biblical scholars through the ages, but Leon states, "The fact that Jehovah is Satan is confirmed in 2 Samuel 24:1 and 1 Chron. 21:1." The first passage says, "And again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah," while the second reports conversely that "Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel."

MYTHOLOGY

I am not a Biblical scholar.  I admit I do not have all of the answers and in fact have a lot of questions.  But when one reads the stories of Lucifer and how he fell from grace, it sounds more like mythology.  How is that story different from that of Zeus and Venus and the various gods and demi-gods of Greek and Roman mythology?

And why would an all powerful and all knowing being need vengeance?  Why would he need a devil?  Why would he allow pain and suffering?

Why do we need free choice if it simply leads to damnation?  Why was it forbidden to take fruit from the tree of knowledge?

Why.  Better not ask why or you are deemed a heretic and blasphemous.

What Is The Deal With Priests and Preachers - Baptist Bishop Eddie Long Accused Of Molesting Teenagers

Two young men are accusing Baptist megachurch leader Bishop Eddie Long of coercing them into having sex with him during hotel stays on out-of-state trips, according to lawsuits filed in Atlanta.  Bishop Long is the pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, an Atlanta suburb. It is one of the largest churches in the country, with some 33,000 followers.

Long, who has a wife and four children, also has a TV ministry.   And yes that is a Bentley he is driving.  He's a preacher who drives a Bentley, has been known to hang around the White House, and received $1 million salary over four years from a charity meant to help poor people. He has also led marches against gay marriage and "delivers" people from the demonic grip of homosexuality. Long once justified taking so much of his charity's money by saying, "You've got to put me on a different scale than the little black preacher sitting over there that's supposed to be just getting by because the people are suffering."

“Defendant Long has a pattern and practice of singling out a select group of young male church members and using his authority as bishop over them to ultimately bring them to a point of engaging in a sexual relationship,” one suit says.   According to the men, Long held a "private spiritual ceremony to mark a 'covenant' between them, with both becoming his 'spiritual son.'" Long is also said to have taken one of the men on "overnight trips where they shared a bedroom and engaged in kissing, masturbation and 'oral sexual contact.'" Bishop Long also allegedly used Bible scriptures to justify himself.

Can't wait to hear these new interpretations of Bible scriptures.  Just proves my point that they can say just about anything you want them to say, right or wrong.  Gives a whole new meaning to 'love thy neighbor."

Bishop Long’s lawyer, Craig Gillen, rejected the accusations.   “Bishop Long adamantly denies these complaints,” Mr. Gillen said. “We find it unfortunate that these two young men have taken these actions. We are reviewing the complaint and will respond accordingly.”

The men were 17 and 18 at the time of the alleged incidents, and they say Long checked them into hotels across the U.S. under the name "Dick Tracy".

OK, if this wasn't so serious and about the sexual exploitation of under-age men, I would have to say, really "Dick Tracy"?  If true it shows that Bishop Long has a very perverse sense of humor.  I am sure Long is very proud of his, um, "equipment."

The two men allege Long gave them presents, including a Mustang, and introduced them to celebrities, like Tyler Perry. Lawyers for the men say church officials knew about the misconduct, but covered it up to protect the powerful Long.

And of course, Bishop Long has a long history of hating homosexuals.  The Southern Poverty Law Center has called Long “one of the most virulently homophobic black leaders in the religiously based anti-gay movement.”   If true, Long would join the illustrious company of fellow Baptist minister, George Alan Rekers (he of "Rent Boy" fame - you know, the poor man with the bad back who hired a male hooker to help him with his luggage), and the ever famous, perfectly straight, meth-using, Ted Haggart.

Does dressing up in drag, I mean long golden robes and funny hats, just make you a little twisted?

"I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: 'O Lord make my enemies ridiculous.' And God granted it.

Watchdog: O'Donnell 'Clearly a Criminal'

Sometimes too good to be true is just that - a bunch of lies and distortions piled on top of errors and omissions.  If ever the axiom seems to apply, it sure does seem to apply to lots of Tea Party candidates.

One of my favorite witches, Christine O’Donnell, just can't seem to stay out of the news.  I guess she firmly believes that all press is good press.

Nonpartisan watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington says that Christine O’Donnell “is clearly a criminal, and like any crook she should be prosecuted."

Damn those are some strong words.  And what did the non-masturbating, puritanical, single-girl do?  According to two complaints, it is alleged the Republican Senate candidate misused $20,000 in campaign funds. “Ms. O'Donnell has spent years embezzling money from her campaign to cover her personal expenses,” the group says.

Girl has to got to eat right?

CREW is seeking a Federal Election Commission audit of O’Donnell’s campaign expenditures, and wants the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office to begin a criminal investigation. The group’s claims are based on an affidavit from an ex-O’Donnell aide, David Keegan, saying O’Donnell used campaign money to pay her rent for two months in 2009 as well as buy food and gas.

For her part, O’Donnell reported that her income between March 2009 and June 2010 was only $5,800. She has not directly addressed reports of her many financial problems, aside from saying that she fell on “hard times.”

She needs to teach financial management classes if she can live on $5,800 a year and run for Senate.

CREW's Sloan said on CNN in advance of the release of the complaint that it's decision to target O'Donnell was not grounded in partisan politics, noting that her organization had called for Democratic Rep. Charles Rangel to resign over ethics violations. (She also discussed the complaint on CBS News, at left.)

"We're about right and wrong and not about black or white, Republican or Democrat," she said. "And it is flat-out wrong for a candidate for the U.S. Senate to be stealing her campaign funds and be using them for personal use."

Maybe Christine can brew up a good spell in her cauldron and make all of this go away.

Quote of the Day

“If taxing the wealthy less were the secret to economic growth, why would we tax them at all?”

Why Are "Conservative Christians" and Republicans Waging War Against The Poor

In an interview today with "Fox News Sunday," Alaska GOP Senate nominee Joe Miller had trouble explaining how he would help the 43.6 million Americans in poverty, even as host Chris Wallace repeatedly pressed him for more than conservative talking points.

Miller is the new poster-boy in Alaska, the ultra conservative Tea Party Christian.  And he just has no time or energy for the poor.  As the Anchorage Daily News has reported, "Miller has called for across-the-board cuts, phasing out government Medicare and Social Security, and getting rid of the federal Department of Education because it is not in the Constitution, leaving the function to the states. He's going well beyond positions that Palin advocated when she was running to be governor of the state and those she espoused as governor."  So what did Miller say:
"I think what you need to look at is the context. We had an extension of unemployment benefits several weeks ago, which is beyond what we had in the past in this country. What we have in this country is an entitlement mentality. Entitlement, not just as individual but even at the state level. If all goes wrong, it's the federal government's role to get in there and provide for the general welfare and provide for solvency; particularly, of states and the auto companies, and the banks. Everything else that fails, the government should be involved in bailing out."
Miller's views on unemployment benefits are further to the right than the positions of many Republicans in Congress, who oppose extending them if they aren't paid for, but haven't gone as far as to say that they're unconstitutional.  [By the way, the Supreme Court has ruled that such benefits are constitutional - but I am sure Miller knows better than they do how to interpret the Constitution.]

But Miller is not alone.  Oh no.  He has plenty of company.  As I previously reported, Kentucky Republican Sen. Jim Bunning made himself a pariah when he singlehandedly blocked a reauthorization of unemployment benefits back in February, saying "tough shit" to a Democratic senator's request to help the long-term jobless and complaining that having to stiff the unemployed was causing him to miss a basketball game.

Since then, almost the entire Republican party has taken up the retiring senator's argument that deficit reduction is more important than jobless aid, and extended benefits have been in limbo since the beginning of June, affecting 2.1 million people.

And what of Sharon Angle?  In the best blame the victim attitude, Sharron Angle says the unemployed are just lazy. It is too bad she wasn't alive during the Great Depression, she could have saved us all from that too.

I always thought that one of the tenants of Christianity was to help to the poor and underprivileged.  But I guess if you believe Sharon they are just lazy and should be forced onto the streets (just not in front of her house).

Blaming the poor for being poor is an easy target.  I mean if you are rich you have had to do something right, right?  Or is it that you just were luckier and had better circumstances?  I mean how many poor get to be like Miller and go to England to study?  How many of those stricken by illness are just not working hard enough to pay their medical bills?

Let them eat cake!

Republicans Waging War Against Each Other

In a strange twist of face, Republicans have started waging war with other Republicans.

For years, Democrats were famous for infighting and Republicans were masters as closing ranks.  Now along comes the Tea Party and the unholy alliance between the Tea Party and mainstream Republicans is ripping at the seams.

U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who lost Alaska's GOP primary last month in a stunning upset to a tea-party backed rival, announced Friday that she's mounting a write-in candidacy in a bid to hold onto her job.  She lost the Republican primary to Republican Tea Party candidate Joe Miller.  I wrote about Jim in - Has The Tea Party Been Hijacked By Conservative Christians?

And of course we have the uproar of Christine O’Donnell.  Check out:

How Do You Get Rid Of Your Mistress - GOP Says Tea Party Candidate "could not be elected dog catcher."

You Be The Judge - Republican Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell

Karl Rove (about as mainstream Republican as you get) said O'Donnell is unqualified.

And the Princess of the Republicans, Sarah Palin, is not happy with Karl or Lisa.  Ms. Sarah urged Murkowski on Twitter Friday afternoon to recognize that the state's primary voters demonstrated their support for Miller, a tea party favorite.

"Listen to the people, respect their will," said Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee. "Voters chose Joe instead."
It seems that the infighting is a reflection of the bi-polar nature of the Tea Party itself.  Is it a party about small government and fiscal responsibility or a party of extreme social conservatives?

I no longer believe it is a party of Libertarians - the social conservatives have hijacked the Tea Party express.

You Be The Judge - Republican Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell

You be the judge.  Should someone who takes these positions be a United States Senator?
"It is not enough to be abstinent with other people, you also have to be be abstinent alone. The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery, so you can't masturbate without lust."
"We took the Bible and prayer out of public schools. Now we're having weekly shootings. We had the 60s sexual revolution, and now people are dying of AIDS."
"You know, these are the kind of cheap, underhanded, un-manly tactics that we've come to expect from Obama's favorite Republican, Mike Castle [..] Mike, this is not a bake-off, get your man-pants on."
"God may choose to heal someone from cancer, yet that person still has a great deal of medical bills. The outstanding bills do not determine whether or not the patient has been healed by God."
"America is now a socialist economy. The definition of a socialist economy is when 50% or more your economy is dependent on the federal government."
Let's add one more tid-bit.  This person hates lying so much she wouldn't even lie to Hitler.
Comedian Eddie Izzard pressed her on just how far she would take her anti-lying beliefs. Izzard asked O'Donnell whether or not she would lie to Nazis who showed up at her door during WWII and demanded to know if she were hiding any Jewish people in her house. O'Donnell refused to even entertain the notion of concealing the truth from Nazis in that scenario because "you never have to practice deception":

O'DONNELL: A lie, whether it be a lie or an exaggeration, is disrespect to whoever you're exaggerating or lying to, because it's not respecting reality.
MAHER: Quite the opposite, it can be respect.
IZZARD: What if someone comes to you in the middle of the Second World War and says, 'do you have any Jewish people in your house?' and you do have them. That would be a lie. That would be disrespectful to Hitler.
O'DONNELL: I believe if I were in that situation, God would provide a way to do the right thing righteously. I believe that!
MAHER: God is not there. Hitler's there and you're there.

O'DONNELL: You never have to practice deception. God always provides a way out.
She wouldn't lie to save a Jewish Family - however, she would:

Lie about her Education:

Lie about a lien that the IRS filed against her for unpaid taxes until she was confronted – later claimed that it was a “Computer Error”:

Lie about her home foreclosure proceedings until she was confronted – later claimed it was an “Administration Error” even though she hadn't paid the mortgage in several months:

So is it just me that thinks this women is a nut case and should never be a US Senator?  Actually no.  Ask Karl Rove.

Speaking on Fox News Tuesday night after O'Donnell's victory was clear, Rove said the political newcomer does not "evince the characteristics of rectitude and sincerity and character that the voters are looking for," adding "there's just a lot of nutty things she's been saying."
I do not think that I have ever agreed with Karl Rove on anything.  There is always a first!

O’Donnell is a 41-year-old serial unsuccessful campaigner, conducting three Senate campaigns in the last five years. Nonetheless, last quarter, she received only five donations from within the state of Delaware. Her support comes from national conservative activist political action committees like the Tea Party Express, which flooded the race late with campaign cash.

A former campaign manager took the highly unusual step of recording a robo-call describing O’Donnell as “a complete fraud.” “I found out she was living on campaign donations—using them for rent and personal expenses, while leaving her workers unpaid and piling up thousands in debt,” said Kristin Murray. “She wasn’t concerned about conservative causes. O’Donnell just wanted to make a buck.”

Now explain to me why this women should even be considered for a US Senate seat.

“You mustn’t be afraid to dream bigger, darling.”

“You mustn’t be afraid to dream bigger, darling.”
Tom Hardy's Character in Inception  (2010)
Unhappy that their latest Gulfstream Jet will not include the ability to land like a helicopter (why can't Gulfstream just make a "Harrier Jump Jet"), the rich and their lap dogs, Senate Republicans, have put their foots down - No Tax Break To Anyone Unless You Cut Taxes To The Rich.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) announced on Monday that he has the commitments from everyone in his caucus to oppose a package of tax cut extensions that fail to continue the current rates for the wealthy as well.

Is it just me or does that man look scary?

Have you ever heard of the Reptilian Theory?  Makes you wonder if they are on to something.

Separated at birth?

Dad and son?

Harry Reid responded that "it is unconscionable for Senate Republicans to hold middle-class tax cuts hostage in order to secure more tax giveaways for millionaires and CEOs who ship American jobs overseas." "Today's declaration by Senate Republicans means they are willing to raise taxes on the middle class and small businesses in the middle of a recession."

Over the next ten years, Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest will increase the deficit by trillions, yet republicans have proposed new tax cuts for the top 2% that if approved, would add to the deficit an additional $3.5 trillion.

Wouldn't you think everyone making less than $250,000 would think tax cuts for the rich were ludicrous? But no! I've heard people on unemployment explain that if the rich were not extended these tax cuts they would not be able to create jobs!

My questions is this:
If they ever intended those tax cuts to help them create jobs, wouldn't they have done it already, since they've had the benefit since 2003? Why didn't they do it when the economy began to go into the cesspool, if that was the rationale for them? There hasn't been any "trickle down" that I can see. More like "trickle up"!!!
Moody’s says rich Americans save Tax Cuts instead of spending,   Which makes sense, once you have 5 homes, jets, yachts and beautiful art, what can you do with all the extra money except save some for the trust funds for your family to create dynastic wealth?  I guess you could buy a Harrier - dream a little bigger darling!!

A Church Rises Above The Rhetoric - Heartsong Church Welcomes Memphis Islamic Center

Huffington Post has a great story today that shows that people can get along and rise about petty differences.  While I usually choose to comment on various stories, this one speaks for itself.

As a controversial pastor prepares to burn copies of the Quran in Florida, he might be able to use some advice from the people of Tennessee. They know a thing or two about fires.

The burning crosses of the Ku Klux Klan trace their heritage to Pulaski. Arson is blamed for damage to a mosque construction site last month in Murfreesboro. University students in Knoxville couldn't even resist setting mattresses ablaze when their football coach ditched them for another job in January.

Something is again burning bright in Tennessee, but this time it's a beacon of hope.

If only Terry Jones, the firebrand behind "International Burn a Koran Day," were going to Graceland. A small detour could lead him to the doorstep of fellow Pastor Steve Stone.

When Stone read in the newspaper that a new Memphis Islamic Center was coming to town, he scrambled to make a sign and took to the street.

"Heartsong Church welcomes Memphis Islamic Center to the neighborhood."

This sign hasn't received much attention since it went up a year and a half ago. Certainly not as much as those carried outside Park51's proposed Cordoba House, two blocks from Ground Zero in lower Manhattan, a thousand miles from Memphis, and a world apart from Heartsong's hospitality.

Stone's counterpart, Dr. Bashar Shala, was overwhelmed by the reception. The sign was only the start of a heartwarming relationship that formed between the two communities. Heartsong eventually decided to let the Islamic Center use their hall while building a new facility.

Besides bringing their own constituencies together for some interfaith activities, Shala and Stone have gone public together with their example. They appeared on MSNBC's "Countdown" on Wednesday night.

The conversation with host Keith Olbermann covered everything from their own all-American tale to foreign reaction to Jones's plan for the upcoming anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Stone found one more example that should resonate with observers:

"I heard [Jones] on a station the other day saying about radical Islamists that 'these are people you just cannot reason with.' And I thought that was the pot calling the kettle black."

Stone doesn't stand alone. Last week, he blogged that, "The majority of the response both locally, nationally and internationally has been positive and affirming. And honestly, that has been both surprising and heartening to me. My guess would be that 90+% have responded that way."

The Memphis Commercial Appeal recently trumpeted a separate local gathering of 150 supporters after the arson in Murfreesboro. Attendees brought their own signs, with slogans like "We're all in this together" and "My God is not a bigot."

There are some things in Memphis that can put a smile on your face and locals look down on burning. And it's not just their world famous BBQ.

Everyone Denounce's Florida Church's Planned Quran Burning - Muslims Respond With Death Threats

I have said before but it bears repeating. Many of the most horrific and barbaric crimes against humanity have been committed in the name of "God." So I am not sure if I am surprised or just disappointed about the planned Quaran burning.

As you probably have heard, the leader of a small Florida church that espouses anti-Islam philosophy said Wednesday he was determined to go through with his plan to burn copies of the Quran on Sept. 11, despite pressure from the White House, religious leaders and others to call it off.

And it is not just "liberals' who are condemning this act. Gen. David Petraeus took the rare step of a military leader taking a position on a domestic matter when he warned in an e-mail to The Associated Press that "images of the burning of a Quran would undoubtedly be used by extremists in Afghanistan -- and around the world -- to inflame public opinion and incite violence."

Gen. Ray Odierno, the former top commander in Iraq, said Wednesday he fears that extremists will use the incident to sow hatred against U.S. troops overseas. "This feeds right into what they want," Odierno said on NBC's "Today Show. Odierno now heads of U.S. Joint Forces Command.

Local religious leaders in Gainesville, Florida, a city of 125,000 anchored by the sprawling University of Florida campus, also criticized the lanky preacher with the bushy white mustache.

At least two dozen Christian churches, Jewish temples and Muslim organizations in the city have mobilized to plan inclusive events -- some will read from the Quran at their own weekend services. A student group is organizing a protest across the street from the church on Saturday.

But isn't this just a book? Isn't this just paper?

Muslims consider the Quran along with any printed material containing its verses or the name of Allah or the Prophet Muhammad to be sacred. Any intentional damage or show of disrespect Quran is deeply offensive.

So how do some Muslims respond?

"It is the duty of Muslims to react," said Mohammad Mukhtar, a cleric and candidate for the Afghan parliament in the Sept. 18 election. "When their holy book Quran gets burned in public, then there is nothing left. If this happens, I think the first and most important reaction will be that wherever Americans are seen, they will be killed. No matter where they will be in the world they will be killed."

Who is right?

Religious fanaticism is just that - fanatic.  Crazy!  Killing and burning in the name of "the God of peace" is psychotic.

Definition of "Politics"

Politics is “the process by which groups of people make collective decisions” that deprive another, weaker, group, of their cash and civil rights. This process is generally accompanied by rhetoric to the effect that this is for the betterment of the group being fleeced.

Missing Accomplished - Why AP Says Do Not Refer To The Iraq War As Over

We have now occupied Iraq for seven years.  And what have we done?

After US occupation following the invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein, Iraq has essentially has no infrastructure, little electricity and less sewerage and potable water.  Wow, we have done wonders for life of the everyday man in Iraq.

And what about the goal of giving power to the people?  Six months after a nation-wide election there is still no legitimate government.

Oh, and tens, if not hundreds, of billions of reconstruction funds are missing. Shocked. Awesome.

A Confederacy of Dunces - The Most Sovereign Nation of Arizona - Tonight's Edition Joe Arpaio

"A firm rule must be imposed upon our nation before it destroys itself. The United States needs some theology and geometry, some taste and decency. I suspect that we are teetering on the edge of the abyss.”
- A Confederacy of Dunces
John Kennedy Toole
Abyss meet "America's Toughest Sheriff" Joe Arpaoi.

What is it about Arizona? Jan Brewer, the call to repeal the 14th Amendment (Arizona Republicans Seek To Tear Down Statue of Liberty) and then you have tonight's blue light special - Joe Arpaio.

Wikpedia says that Arpaio promotes himself as "America's Toughest Sheriff." He has become controversial for aggressive publicity seeking, retaliation against political enemies, abuse of power, civil rights violations, financial mismanagement, and his outspoken stance against illegal immigration. He has become a flash-point for controversy surrounding Arizona's SB1070 anti-illegal-immigrant act. He is currently the subject of FBI, United States Department of Justice, and Federal Grand Jury investigations for civil rights violations and abuse of power, and is the defendant in a federal class-action suit for racial profiling.

Sounds like a real stand-up guy.  Who could possible object to him?
"When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him."
Epigraph by Jonathan Swift
Justice Joe is in the news again as the Justice Department has filed suit against obnoxious self-serving tyrant Joe Arpaio, sheriff of Maricopa County, for refusing to cooperate in a civil rights investigation.

Arpaio, who, with the help of his volunteer "posses", has been grossly overstepping using his authority for years, to imprison undesirables.  He's a proud practitioner of racial profiling, regardless of its legal status.

But the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division started investigating him last year "amid accusations of discrimination and unconstitutional searches and seizures related to the sheriff's immigration-enforcement efforts." Arpaio claims his office has been cooperating. The Justice Department's lawyers very much disagree, however, and they're tired of asking, and now they're just suing the asshole to get it over with:

The lawsuit comes after weeks of back-and-forth letters between the agencies, threats to strip the county of federal funding, and a meeting in Washington last week among attorneys to discuss the investigation.
A spokeswoman for the Justice Department has said this is the first time in the last 30 years that a police or sheriff's agency has refused to cooperate with a Title VI investigation. Thursday's action marks the first time the agency is suing to compel access to documents and facilities.
Hell why cooperate with that damn Federal "do nothing" Government.  Besides it is just a bunch of drug dealing Mexican terrorist he is abusing anyway (or at least that is what Joe is saying and the people who are "supporters of him").

Arpaio is quoted as saying: "All these people that come over, they could come with disease. There's no control, no health checks or anything. They check fruits and vegetables, how come they don't check people? No one talks about that! They're all dirty. I sent out 200 inmates into the desert, they picked up 18 tons of garbage that they bring in—the baby diapers and all that. Where's everybody who wants to preserve the desert?"

Thank you JOE.  Now the criminals are runnin' scared because they don't want to live in tents in the desert or wear pink underwear. Sheriff Joe is truly an American hero. He proves that if you can abuse your power and be an unrepentant asshole to minorities you can win the hearts of old white folks everywhere who just want to believe that even though they're sinking into an abyss of poverty they're still better than Mexicans.

Oh Ignatious Joe:

"I do admire the terror which Negroes are able to inspire in the hearts of some members of the white proletariat and only wish (This is a rather personal confession.) that I possessed the ability to similarly terrorize. The Negro terrorizes simply by being himself; I however, must browbeat a bit in order to achieve the same end. Perhaps I should have been a Negro. I suspect that I would have been a rather large and terrifying one, continually pressing my ample thigh against the withered thighs of old white ladies in public conveyances a great deal and eliciting more than one shriek of panic. Then, too, if I were a Negro, I would not be pressured by my mother to find a good job, for no good jobs would be available."
- A Confederacy of Dunces
Arpaio set up a "Tent City" as an extension of the Maricopa County Jail. Tent City is located in a yard next to a more permanent structure containing toilets, showers and an area for meals. It has become notable particularly because of Phoenix's extreme temperatures. During the summer of 2003, when outside temperatures exceeded 110 °F (43 °C), Arpaio said to complaining inmates, "It's 120 degrees in Iraq and the soldiers are living in tents, have to wear full body armor, and they didn't commit any crimes, so shut your mouths."

That is right.  Shut your fucking mouth.

What do all the limped wristed liberals say?  Why those lame unpatriotic Americans point out that the vast majority of inmates within Tent City have not been convicted; rather, they are merely awaiting trial.  Who needs that damn "innocent until proven guilty" mumbo jumbo.

But Justice Joe doesn't just mess with Mexicans, no.  If you get in his way he will bring you down too.

In 2008, a federal grand jury began an inquiry of Arpaio for abuse of power, in connection with an FBI investigation. Arpaio is being investigated for politically motivated and "bogus" prosecutions, which a former US Attorney called "utterly unacceptable". Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon has called Arpaio's "long list" of questionable prosecutions "a reign of terror".

And with that "reign of terror" Justice Joe has become to some, a modern folk-hero.  A gun-slinging, Patriot of the white true Americans.
"I am at this moment writing a lengthy indictment against our century. When my brain begins to reel from my literary labors, I make an occasional cheese dip."

— John Kennedy Toole (A Confederacy of Dunces)
My prophecy comes closer and closer to reality: Arizona and Texas will join together in a New Confederacy and declare total war on reason.   Pass me the cheese dip!

How Do You Get Rid Of Your Mistress - GOP Says Tea Party Candidate "could not be elected dog catcher."

What do you do when your mistress becomes too big a problem?  Ask the GOP as they get tired of their mistress, the Tea Party.  Isn't it always sad when a love affair goes bad?

Christine O'Donnell is a Tea Party Senate Candidate in the State of Delaware.

Delaware Republicans call Senate hopeful Christine O'Donnell a liar who "could not be elected dog catcher" in a fierce attack that underscores GOP fears of the tea party-backed candidate knocking off top recruit Rep. Mike Castle and winning the nomination.

Awfully mean of them to belittle dog catchers that way.

Party officials have said she inflated her resume and made flat-out untrue statements while being dogged by questions about tax liens and foreclosures.  Doesn't seem to bother them when Beck and Palin make statements of questionable veracity.  But when the sex love is over, the mistress has got to go.

The Tea Party Express has announced a six-figure commitment to back O'Donnell. A spokesman, Levi Russell, said the organization hopes to begin airing radio and television ads by the end of this week or early next week, and put the anticipated cost at about $250,000.

Wow, so she is a Tea party darling, but just used meat to the GOP.  Makes you wonder what the GOP thinks about the Tea Party.

But GOP no need to fear - O'Donnell is a good girl.

The Delaware Republican, who is challenging Rep. Mike Castle in the state's Senate primary and has earned the financial backing of a portion of the Tea Party movement, made an appearance in the MTV series "Sex In The 90s." Entitled "The Safest Sex Of All," the episode was ostensibly geared towards understanding the importance of abstinence. But O'Donnell's guidance went a bit further. Masturbation, she argued, is not a moral substitute for sex. "The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery. So you can't masturbate without lust."

Maybe that is what bothers all those stuffy GOP party leaders - they hate to think about not yanking your chain.

We Are Being Invaded By Illegals Across The Border - Oh Wait A Minute

Damn when facts get in the way of really great rhetoric.

The Washington Post reports - Illegal immigration to U.S. down almost 67% since 2000.

The number of illegal immigrants entering the United States has plunged by almost two-thirds in the past decade, a dramatic shift after years of growth in the population, according to a new report by the Pew Hispanic Center.

Between 2000 and 2005, an average of 850,000 people a year entered the United States without authorization, according to the report released Wednesday. As the economy plunged into recession between 2007 and 2009, that number fell to 300,000.

The sharp drop-off has contributed to an 8 percent decrease in the estimated number of illegal immigrants living in the United States, from a peak of 12 million in 2007 to 11.1 million in 2009, the report said. Of the 11.1 million, 8.9 million came from Mexico and other parts of Latin America. Virginia, Florida and Nevada were among the states with steepest declines in their populations of illegal immigrants.

Arizonians are you listening?

Glenn Beck Cuts Down The Cherry Tree

Glenn Beck, the controversial Fox News host, during his much-ballyhooed "Restoring Honor" rally on Saturday said:
"I have been going to Mt. Vernon," he explained. Holding out his hands for emphasis, he declared with emotion, "I went to the National Archives, and I held the first inaugural address written in his own hand by George Washington."
Beck also highlighted the legacy of the nation's first president to drive home his claim that encouraging honesty and integrity was a main aim of the event. Beck even told attendees that "the next George Washington" was "in this crowd. He may be 8 years old, but this is the moment. This is the moment that he dedicates his life, that he sees giants around him. And 25 years from now, he will come not to this stair, but to those stairs. And he can proclaim, 'I have a new dream.'"

But I guess the "honesty and integrity" thing is tough for Beck.  National Archives spokeswoman Susan Cooper insists that Beck didn't lay a finger on any precious documents, much less George Washington’s inaugural address. That would be a major violation of policy. "Those kinds of treasures are only handled by specially trained archival staff," she explains. Cooper acknowledges that someone at the archives did show the document to Beck, but that was the extent of it. Regarding Beck's claim that he held the document, Cooper says that seeing such documents for the first time can be a very emotional experience. "I'm certain it was a figure of speech," she says.

Woops.

What's worse, Beck has a history of chiding others for lying and stretching the truth to bolster his own incendiary rhetoric. In April, for instance, the Rev. Jim Wallis wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post criticizing Beck for suggesting that the term "social justice" was "code" for communism and for encouraging his radio show listeners to flee churches that promote social justice. Beck retorted by quoting the Bible to Wallis: "Thou shalt not lie." Groups like Media Matters soon found clips from Beck's show where he said precisely what Wallis had claimed he did.

Yet getting caught in lies hasn't ever stopped Beck from holding himself up as someone with the honesty of, well, George Washington. He even has his own version of a cherry-tree-chopping tale, which he recounted during a February show in a segment dedicated to the "Lies Politicians Tell."

He told viewers:

When I was a kid, growing up you could get away with just about anything in my house except for lying. You did not want to lie in my house. I'll never forget the day my sister decided to play hooky. My dad worked in the bakery all day, so we never saw him in the light of day. My other sister and I were a little surprised when my dad picked us up and the sun was still out. He said, "Where's your sister? Be careful what you say. Remember, we tell the truth in this family."
He made us both sit in the backseat. At this point, we knew bad things were about to go down. When we finally found my other sister, dad pulled up next to her: "So, how was school?" He kept asking and asking, letting her dig the hole deeper. I think I got only like three spankings in my life. My sisters never got any—until that day. The belt made an appearance.
Papa Beck would have to pull out the belt of this one.  And so much for "restoring honor."
