Idiot of the Day - Kathleen McKinley

Not only is this person the IDIOT OF THE DAY, she also qualifies for MOST DISGUSTING PERSON OF THE DAY.

Christian Blogger Mom - Kathleen McKinley
The Houston Chronicle's "TexasSparkle: A blog about politics and issues with Kathleen McKinley" is a passionate blog penned by a devoted wife, loving mom and proud American who's been carrying on an affair for years...with Jesus! In Tuesday's installment, "Are Adults Also To Blame For Gay Teen Suicides?

Yes you read that right - Parents are to blame for their children being bullied, beaten and killed.

And those people behind the It Gets Better campaign! Murderers! You're all murderers! Here. Let her explain:
Today, while waiting at the orthodontist's office for my son, I read a People Magazine article on other teen suicides due to bullying, most of them gay. One was a 13 year old boy.

Bullied to death via suicide!
So, now I'm just mad.

Am I mad at the hateful mean kids who bully and tease these teens? You bet I am. But I am just as mad at the idiotic adults who force our adult views on kids, and pull them into our adult world long before they are mature enough to handle it. The 13 year old that killed himself told his Mom he was gay. She said she already knew and hugged him. She said she just assumed that everyone else would be as accepting as she was.

Really? Have you been around teenagers? They are cruel and mean. They constantly tear each other down. It was bad when I was a teenager, I can only imagine what it's like now. No, I don't have to imagine how it is now. This is how it is now. Why in the world would you give teenagers a REASON to tease you? Oh, yes, because the adults tell you to embrace who you are, the only problem? Kids that age are just discovering who they are. They really have no idea yet. The adults tell you to "come out," when what we should be telling them is that sex is for adults, and there is plenty of time for figuring out that later. Figure out yourself first. Focus on the kind of person you want to be, not the kind of person you want to sleep with. A 13 year old should not be building his life around his sexual orientation. He should be being A KID ...

We have sexualized our kids with movies, music, and culture, and now we have viruses like HPV running rampant before they even go to college. We should all be ashamed of ourselves. [...]

Let's let kids be kids, for God's sake. Remember the gay young boy's last message said, "How do you know it will get better?" He was a KID! Kids can't see around the corner. They just aren't mature enough yet. They don't see it getting better no matter how many times Lady Ga Ga says it will. So, enough with our politically correct campaigns aimed at kids.

It's killing them.
Yes, just move on to the back of the bus, everything will be fine.  I bet you a million dollars if it were Christian students being bullied, she wouldn't be advising them to hide their religion.

Unfortunately, children will find reasons to bully other kids. And, most of the kids who get called fag or gay aren't actually gay. Someone will decide the kid is gay and they gang up on him or her. What are you going to do about the kid with immutable traits, the boy who is just a little "feminine" and can't make himself macho? Ms. McKinley's arguments are specious and her "solution" is not a solution at all.

She is blaming the victim here. Being "gay" is NOT "personal business", and if it were then so would EVERY heterosexual relationship. No one could announce that they have boyfriends or girlfriends? No one would have marriage ceremonies (that's PERSONAL business!). In High School (because yes, we're talking about kids here), there would be NO dates to the prom, no holding hands in the hallway, and NO BOYFRIENDS AND GIRLFRIENDS. Do anyone expect people to live under that kind of law?  Does it make any sense at all?

Telling children to keep their personal lives private--which, of course, is code for some ignorant straight people saying "do whatever the hell they want, so long as gay kids suppress their identity in every public moment of every day." That might have been how it was done 20 years ago, but, the difference then was that the gay kids committed suicide quietly, alone, and at a higher rate than they do now.

The only solution is changing the way kids treat others and the way they treat themselves, and that doesn't happen with dismissal, shame, and a total lack of visibility.

  1. What a horrible message to send to children and worse to the parents of young people who committed suicide. Blaming victims is disgusting.

She should shut up and be the miserable horrible person she is behind closed doors!

And you are right to point out that it is not just gay children who commit suicide. Bullying must stop!

    I feel for her children.

  6. Once again a christian with wicked thoughts. This woman claims she is having an affair with Jesus. I don't think Jesus would approve of her hateful message. The bible has destroyed and corrupted so many minds.

  7. Many of these teens being bullied are NOT out. Teens can see characteristics in other teens just as adults can see differences in other adults. If a lesbian teen is very " butch" kids get what that means. So the bullying begins. It has nothing to do with a parent loving and accepting their child for whom they are. Shame on this " christian blogger mother" who is so sadly stupid. It is her mind set which takes lives.
