Senator Hate - Sen. Kyl: Repeal 14th Amendment

The 14th Amendment was enacted in 1868 to ensure that states would not deny citizenship to former slaves. It reads, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."


Sen. John Kyl, R-Ariz., said today that Congress should hold hearings to look into denying citizenship to illegal aliens' children born in the United States, as the fight over immigration widens into the explosive "birthright" issue.


Last week Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said he was considering introducing a Constitutional amendment to repeal a provision of the 14th Amendment, which guarantees citizenship to anyone born within U.S. borders. Graham suggested that children born in the United States whose parents are here illegally should not automatically become U.S. citizens.

The United States is and was a Country founded by immigrants.  Why do we now wish to say it is only good for those of us who are here now?

  2. you are an idiot. it was made for slavery and meant to guarantee the slaves rights and citizenship. reform of it is discussed because it is so abused as a loophole in the immigration system. im not racist. and i love people of other races. i think immigration is great. its made america what it is today. but theres a system for a reason, as is with every other country. why should it be okay for people to immigrate illegally? the whole point is that its ILLEGAL hence the name. legal immigration is great . illegal immigration hurts the economy and is not good. we arent all stereotypical racist because when it comes to illegal immigration we feel that it has the name illegal for a reason.
